The Bali wedding of Rachael & Kevin
I had met Rachael & Kevin in late 2018 when they came to Bali to have their engagement photos taken with me. On the day of the pre-wedding photos, we also had the opportunity to chat a bit about their wedding. And I was pleased to see that the two had taken up some of my suggestions for the wedding day.
And boy’, what a wedding it was.
The Bali wedding of Rachael & Kevin was one of those weddings that are getting rare in Bali. A truly spectacular event with style and elegance. It took place in spacious villa complex situated atop a cliff and overlooking the Lombok Sea.
Probably one of the best views in Bali.
Apart from the blue sky and the turquoise waters, the dominant hue was white.
But it wasn’t just the view that made this wedding so remarkable. From the outset, everything was just perfect. The décor, the vibe and most and foremost the family and friends of the couple who came all the way from the UK to celebrate with Rachael and Kevin.
The bride and the other ladies were getting ready mid-afternoon in the main building. Makeup, hair styling, champagne sipping, giggling – the typical bridal chamber atmosphere.
But I may remark that Rachael appeared very relaxed. No sign of nervousness. This was probably also due to the support of her lovely bridesmaids and Rachael’s mom.
Kevin and his best man were even more relaxed while taking it slow getting ready.
The proceedings started with Kevin and his best man casually walking towards the altar and having a short chat with the guests who were all assembled. Shortly after the bride’s maids followed by Rachael accompanied by her father walked down the aisle.
Once the wedding rites concluded and the family and group photos were taken we embarked on a photo tour. We were accompanied by the bridal party.
What distinguishes this fantastic villa complex is that it has some remarkable spots for photography. And the late afternoon light was perfect.
After a few photos in the villa’s complex, we headed down to the beach.
After the photography session concluded the couple retired for a bit to freshen up. Once the sun had set guests started to assemble at the dinner table. And shortly after Kevin & Rachael made a spectacular entrance while sparklers were going off in the background.
What followed was a relaxed dinner reception. During which a Balinese fire-dancer group had a fabulous performance.
The dinner continued and at some point, the wedding moved into the pool. At which time I left…
Exhausted, yet gratified that I have been privileged once more to be part of a fantastic clifftop vill wedding.
THANK YOU SO MUCH RACHAEL & KEVIN.
